Tylop’s Fable
One beautiful
summer’s day Mr. and Mrs. Painted-Turtle were all ready for their first
vacation and everything was going swell. “You made sure you packed our
passports right Mr. Painted-Turtle?” said Mrs. Painted-Turtle frantically. “Yes, I
got them.” Responded Mr. Painted-Turtle. Mrs. Painted-Turtle was asking
questions the whole way to the Great Lakes. The Great lakes are precious though
and were guarded by the Silver back Gorillas. The Silver back gorillas are very
territorial and protective of their land so they toughly inspect everyone who
tries to come to the land of the great lakes. When Mr. and Mrs. Painted-Turtle
got to the boarder the big silver back gorilla asked them a bunch of questions
that they had all the answers too and the silver back gorilla seemed impressed
but he had one final question. He asked Mr. and Mrs. Painted-Turtle to remove
their shell so he could inspect it. Both Mr. and Mrs. Painted-Turtle looked at
each other jaws wide open and said “We are Turtles! Taking off our shells will
kill us! We can’t hide anything in our shells, we will not remove them!” the
Silver back Gorilla said “Then you cannot enter the Land of the Great
Lakes!” Mr. and Mrs. Painted-Turtle got
really mad and used their hard shells to knock the Silver back Gorilla out and
they entered the Land of the Great Lakes for their vacation.
